Vradeto (49 km from Ioannina) is considered to be the “balcony” of Zagori. Due to the fact that it is located at an altitude of 1340 m, it is the highest village of Zagori and has an immense view towards every direction. The famous area of Beloi is situated half an hour northwest of the village, providing a “breathtaking” view of the Gorge of Vikos.
Vradeto was inhabited at the beginning of the 17th century (1616) by breeders who came from the dissolved settlement of Nuka of Skamneli. Until 1973, the staircase of Vradeto was the only access road for Vradeto. Nowadays, it is a popular tourist destination as well as a mountain trail. In winter, the village is deserted due to snowfall caused by the high altitude.
An important monument is the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary 1799.
